Town of Oakvilleās Hogsback Park
One of the best ways to attract wildlife to your backyard garden is by providing a regular supply of water. Yellow water lillies provide a pop of colour during summer months, while the lush grasses and sedges provide ample habitat and nesting materials for songbirds.
Kelso Conservation Area
For this project, we introduced a plethora of native species, including Prairie Junegrass and White Bear Sedge. In addition to planting, we constructed a beautiful wooden bridge from reclaimed wood and upcycled parts. Natural river rock was used to tie everything together.
Backyard on Munn's Ave.
Arbours are a great way to add dimension to your space. Arbours are great for vine-growing plants like the Virginia Creeper. These plants produce blue berries that birds love, and in the fall the leaves turn a brilliant red, ensuring your garden remains vibrant even in the colder months.
Stonework Garden on 6th Line
Flagstone and natural stone planters add structure and variability to your garden. The bench pictured was hand-crafted out of reclaimed pine.
Naturalistic Pond on Trafalgar
This project features river rock, Canadian Lillies, and Snowberry. The river rock provides a place for birds to drink, and the snowberries attract songbirds to eat.
The slight change in evevation of the pond from shallow to deep causes a bubbling stream sound, which actually attracts a lot of birds to have a drink or a bath! A simple addition such as this can have a big impact.
Oak Park
We capitalized on the naturally-growing Lavendar to really make this garden stand out. An addition of a simple arbour, made of a fallen tree, adds a focal point and dimension to the space.
Hamilton Botanical Gardens
This was an extensive project featuring pathways, shrubs, and trees. Blue flag iris and broad-leafed sedge were prominent plants throughout this design. American Beech was the prominent tree, as it provides ample food for the local wildlife.
Front Garden on Oxford Road
Showy tick-trefoil featured in this garden improves nitrogen content in the soil, and attracts butterflies! All the blooms are designed to attract butterflies and other polinators.
Deck & Garden on Bronte
Deck, flagstone, stone walkways, and a pond was put in before the garden was planted. A variety of plants were used, like Sneezeweed, which blooms a brilliant yellow from August to October. We strive to have the garden looking bright and fresh with a variety of blooms so that you have a pop of colour in your garden year-round.
